Here is how the brewer describes this beer:"A smooth, malty Doppelbock lager. Brewed with German malts and cold aged for months this strong lager will warm you from the inside out."
Review from a rare growler..
Very nice doppelbock....cola colored...minimal head...great nose of sweet malts...black cherries....raisens....dates....molasses is very evident...and brown sugar...brown sugar...lower carbonation but full bodied...rich and smooth....good dose of alcohol spiciness on the finish...very sweet flavor....nice clean sweetness though...tight..flavors mimic the nose but don't quite match in strength..
This is a high ABV brew and you can taste it...nice example of the doppelbock style....I wish this could sit for about 6-12 months as I feel the "heat" would tone down a bit and the malt flavors would blend even more nicely...but out of a growler it is not possible...Great winter warmer...as I type this it is -15 outside and I am warming up immediately...
