Originally reviewed February 20, 2005. On tap at the brewpub.
Also, not retired.
Clear deep yellow pour. Diminishing head, but great sheeted lacing. Spicy indian flavors, including spinich, garam masala, and tamarind. But softly backed with a butter finish. Strong floral in the nose. Palate is average.

Clear, honey-amber, almost peachy-colored with an ample crown of creamy white foam. Nice.
Aroma: light, but sweet, and floral. quiet hoppy notes, lush malt..intriquingly subtle...shows some fruits, but not the typical type...apple, melon, with a whiff of orange...
Taste: all kinds of delicious, and every stripe of smooth. Very pleasantly occupies the mouth. Same flavors in the nose reappear on the tongue, and it's a cool affair, a nice medley of tastes that boils down simply enough. Rather light in body, with a simple, though memorable, fruity finish, this is an ideal sessioner, not too troubling, but terrifically flavorful. Very creamy-smooth-and tasty on the palate, medium-bodied, with a drying finish.
Another intriquing offering from an excellent brewery.

On-tap at the brewpub: Clear gold with a whitish thin topping that skims out quickly and forms a frothy collaring. Lacing sticks well in broken sheeting.
Aroma is light and clean with a slight citrus twist and a fine airy pine scent drifting over one super crisp biscuity malting.
Crisp, clean profile in the flavor dept., front is slippery and quick and just as you think that there's nothing to it, blam, the fun begins. Hugely toasty and crisp, nicely handled amounts popping right to the surface of biscuit crust with a whole grain edge mixing with a subdued floral cannabis. Finishes with one easy fine bitterness closing with a floral pine hop tinge and touches of citric bite all the while keeping the toasted backing. If it weren't for such a slow slippery start this would've bowled me over completely. I kept wanting and waiting for the flavors to kick in after each sip, but, and, when they do, oh my its fantabulous. It kept me eager to continue drinking it which is actually a nice quality to have, but bothersome too when the flavors are this damn good. The flavors that do pop, pop alot and are very well handled and balanced with just the right bite of hops for a pale.
Clean and smartly smooth with a quick front that tends to be shy of a medium body the whole way through, but the middle to finish area is where the toasty hop stuff begins to pop and just builds bit by bit leaving lasting impressions and eager intentions for colossal drinkability and super-sized sessioning.
I could drink this stuff all day!
