Champagne of the North - served in a snifter, the beer is a rusty opaque color with virtually no head.
The smell is of fruit, candy, and raw grain. There is some old apple in the background (If you ever went apple picking and there were old withered apples on the tress, you know the smell).
The taste is tart and crisp. The taste is of ripe plums, apples, and a hint of hard cider. Puckering on the mouth. Note that I had this beer without the woodruff or raspberry syrup.
The mouth is luxuriant & silky. Drinkability is tougher, the tartness limits me to one, but this is a beer to revisit on a regular basis.
