Thanks, stig!
(Aged for 2 years)
Black and thick in appearance with just a bit of visible carbonation. Small crown of small bubbles. Leaves the glass sticky and slightly oily. Pretty and appropriate.
Very well integrated bourbon presence layered up against earthy and bittersweet chocolates and roast. Complete, though straightforward.
The flavor is very well integrated and the alcohol is almost entirely hidden. Layers of chocolate, mild wood, easy-drinking bourbon, and roast combine very nicely.
Near full in body with low carbonation. Very nice.
Wonderful.

On tap on Christmas Eve 2010. Full name Bourbon Barrel Aged Edmund Imperial Stout.
A - Poured a jet black color with a small, thin, tan head. It left some soapy/sudsy lace on the glass.
S - It smelled of bourbon, oak, burnt molasses and chocolate. Really right on point for the style.
T - Lots of chocolate, toffee and burnt molasses flavors. The bourbon and oak flavors are milder but still ever present.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied stout with a dry finish.
D - It was a pleasure to stumble upon this one. Really great.
