Java Big Boat Stout - served an imperial pint - the beer is jet black with a frothy tan head. Glad to see it on cask!
The beer has an aroma of percolated coffee and oats.
The taste is slightly sweet but there is bitterness from both the coffee and the base beer. I like the sweetness overlaid with the coffee notes. I think this is a nice variation of one of my favorites from this brewpub.
The mouth has decent heft and mid-level carbonation.
All-in-all, another nice end of the night option.
