Sampled on site in Bloomington. Arrived a lemony yellow color with a bit of haze. Still visible but a bit hazy for style. A soft white head that did dissipate over time. Ok lacing through out.

The nose is mostly pilsner malt. Malt really comes out nicely but some DMS and a touch of sulfur are detectable. Not bad just noticeable. No hop aroma at all. Some minor yeast notes, and I could pick out acetaldehyde but my wife could not.

The taste was limited. The malt came out nicely although it had more of a grainy flavor that you get from 2 row. It was lacking that distinct German malt characteristics. Some minor husky notes as well. The hops were assertive in the bitterness and really balanced the sweeter malt well. No really off yeast notes, more of an American feel.

The body was light with a smooth texture. A bit sweet, could have used more of a crispness. Overall a easy drinking beer. I feel I nit-picked the beer in my review but it was a nice enjoyable beer.

Upland's fall seasonal, their Pilsener, pours a light copper color with a relatively frothy white head. Nose is of pronounced fruitiness and mild, earthy hops. Taste is mild Saaz hops, fruitiness (almost like it was top fermented like an ale), and sweet caramel malt. Smooth mouthfeel, crisp and clean. Very refreshing. A nice effort from Upland and one I'll certainly drink again when it arrives in bottles.
