EDIT: 09/07/04, not my favorite Upland anymore. Had some more last night and had to drop the taste rating down to 4. Its good, but its not hat good. A bit cloying after just 2 pints last night.
Really my favorite Upland beer yet. The Winter Warmer is good, but this beer is great. The Brewer's of Indiana Guild set the task to several Indiana breweries to brew a beer using the same malt and hops, but their own water, brewhouse routine, and yeast. Not sure if the amounts of each ingredient can vary.

93% Rahr 2 row (American Malt from Minnesota)
3% Simpsons (England) medium crystal
4% Simpsons Light Crystal
33 IBUs in 3 additions of Mt. Hood and Cascade
Upland's version is very tasty. Incredible balance of malt and hops. Very well balanced beer. The hop flavor is very nice with a low to medium bitterness that is just barely overpowered by the medium bodied rock candy maltyness. Nice crystal malt flavors. Very drinkable beer. Of course the 7$ pitcher night helped with the drinkability factor. i can't even imagine this beer on cask. How wonderful it would be.
