Enjoyed from the growler via DEPS in a snifter. This nice stout pours a dark brownish black with a nice head of light khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and very nice lacing. Nose of roasted chocolate malts, subtle pepper notes, and sweet caramel notes. Flavors follow and exceed by force of flavor with nice medium dark chocolate notes on the front and middle followed by light roasted pepper notes that are slight and pleasant with a touch of cream. Smooth and lightly creamy with a medium mouth feel and a nice light carbonation. A great session brew, a touch two dimensional, but solid.
Of note, this is labeled as an oyster stout on the web site which I do not catch in the flavor profile.
Like a chocolatey, mild, light on the heat Prairie Bomb. Nice.
