16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 2/2018. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, strawberry, citrus zest, light pepper/pine, honey, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, strawberry, citrus zest, light pepper/pine, honey, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grass, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, strawberry, citrus peel, light pepper/pine, honey, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 9% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV; with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Never overly aggressive. Extremely juicy and lightly dank hop complexity; balanced bready malt backbone, never overly sweet/heavy feeling from lingering bitter dryness. A very enjoyable offering. Loved the hop profile.

Riding high and showing everyone who's hops are bigger, the pissing competition between Against the Grain and Upland brewing companies has each of them inching higher and higher.
Overcompensation IPA pours with a common hoppy haze and deep golden appearance. Its frothy, ivory crown comes with a beautiful and succulent tropical fruit presence. As elements of citrus and herb swoon the nose, the flavor comes beckoning with poundcake, honey, pastry and caramel.
Then a taste of the tropics explodes on the middle palate as the full flavor of pineaple, papaya, mango, kiwi, melon and even light banana shine with a tropical fruit sweetness and a succinct tanginess. As the sweetness begins to release, the slight tartness of tropical fruit and citrus come with a growing presence of red grapepfruit, tangerine and lemon. An herbal bitterness follows, bringing a gin-like spice with a fresh grassiness, hemp and verbena brightness.
Moderately bitter and medium full in body, the beer's texture nearly passes for standard IPA in its crisp and clean drinkability. A medium to long aftertaste resonates long and lean with the peels of tropical fruit and botanical herbs. The only thing that these brewers are shy with is their malt bill in this recipe.
