Viking Slang is an Imperial Hazy IPA brewed with Nordic Kveik yeast. Kveik (pronounced “kuh-vike”) is a family of yeast used to ferment traditional Nordic Farmhouse Ales. This unique yeast contributes a rich tropical flavor and aroma that fits perfectly with this style. Flavors of tropical fruit, and citrus give way to more subtle stone fruit, and dried fruit leather. Pouring golden orange with a lingering fruity, sweet finish. Pair it with a plate of red curry or spicy pad thai.

16 oz. can poured into a pint glass. Copper orange color with a decent 1/2 inch head. Aroma is sweet citrus; sort of a vanilla orange thing. It is not an IPA with a forward bitterness. It’s bitterness is subtle and noted a bit more in the finish. I’d call this a medium bodied beer. It’s referred to as an Imperial IPA but the ABV is not as high as most in that category at 7.6%. Viking Slang is a solid IPA without trying too hard to be anything else.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a slightly hazy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits, mango stands out. Taste is tropical fruits, citrus, mild to moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

It looks much like orange juice with a big fluffy white head now nearly filling a clear glass Imperial pint mug. This is the result of a pour which emptied a pint can of Viking Slang. Copious lacing gives witness as the liquid drains from the glass. The generosity of this brew ends there. It's absent of any describable aroma. It brings a citrusly flavor to the taste, but it's no where near the claimed "rich" level. Neither is it complex. Toward the good side, it's not too hoppy, not too sweet and not tasting too much as an alcoholic beverage. It probably would go down better as a great contrast to its recommended pairings, spicy foods.

Aroma is fruit, citrus and big vanilla creamsicle. The flavor is orange/citrus, malts, mild vanilla creamsicle sweetness and a grapefruit/bitter hop finish.
