As others have said, the selection here is outstanding given the location. That said, check the dates on everything. Stuff sits forever. Prices are also ridiculous on limited releases. 12 oz Black Note and BCBS at $17 a bottle? Ugh.

Decent selection of craft beers and there are some hidden gems to be had if you are in the arear. If you are looking for IPAs, make sure to check the brewer's date because some of the IPAs that are on the shelves can be very old. For example, the last time I was there (around August 2014), there was a stack of 7 cases of Bell's Hopslam on the floor!

Pricing is a tad high on the more common beers that are brewed year round, but can be ridiculously high for single-time or annually rotating brews. There was a bottle of BCBS Backyard Rye being sold for $40! On top of the higher prices, they will hit you with a 3% charge if paying with a credit card!

All in all, a decent place to get some good beer, but buyer beware!

As stated before, Cut Rate is a rarity in finding great beer in a small town. Although they specialize more in wine than beer, the beer selection is always growing. They're starting to carry more bombers, including southern tier, three floyds, goose island, rogue, avery, etc. I've also bought MANY four-packs of central waters BBS, BBBW, and peruvian morning. Great selection of locals (central waters, hinterland, new holland, tyranena, oso, ale asylum, etc). Also a good selection of the dogfish head premiums (although not for long as they are pulling out of WI). Neal, the proprieter, will gladly talk with you for an hour about beer. Prices are as expected. It's easy to lose track of time rumaging through the back cooler.

Update:
Cut Rate's prices have become higher. Usually $.50 to $1.00 higher than other local stores. When KBS came out in the spring of 2012, their policy was to sell one 12oz bottle for $14 with the purchase of a regular Founder's six-pack ($10-11). Currently, they are selling GI bourbon county stout for $8/single. Other stores are selling it for $21/four-pack in this area.

Update (Feb 2013)
Prices are getting higher. Goose Island Big John & Night Stalker are at $18/bomber. Other local stores are at $10-11/bomber.

Piraat, Chimay, St. Bernardus 8 AND 12 in Plymouth Wisconsin? Are you kidding me? Plymouth, WI is a town of about 8100 people in eastern Wisconsin, so this place is like a little piece of heaven a short distance from Lake Michigan. I visit Plymouth because my in-laws live there - but if this place was anywhere near St. Paul, MN, where I live, I would still patronize it.

Cut Rate has a very nice beer selection - lots of local beers (they have the New Glarus cherry and their raspberry), a very nice rack of belgians including quite a few Unibroues, nice selection of german ales, and a nice selection of microbrews. They also have a very nice selection of wines, and hard liquor. They seem to rotate their stock a little - the Piraat my wife spotted in June 2006 wasn't there when we returned in July or August 2006, but they sell what they can move I suppose. The manager / owner was really helpful - I usually end up purchasing more than I intended, as usual. A little pricey (10%-15% more) than I pay in St. Paul, but when you're in Plymouth, or the surrounding area, this IS the place to go to.

One of the two best places in the area for non-mainstream beer. The other being Jake's in Sheboygan. Recently found out it's the same owner. Great selection crammed into a small space. Watch your elbows. Came close to knocking over some high end Chimay. Lots of loose bottles and hard to find items. Knowledgable staff. Priced on the high-end but they're able too since the only decent places are an hour away. Some were priced as I would expect to see in a restaurant. Great selection though and if they don't have it, they seem happy to bring it in.
