On-tap at Bierproeflokaal in de Wildeman, Amsterdam, Netherlands
A: The beer is clear amber orange in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a creamy and dense off white head that died down, leaving wisps of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pumpkins are present in the nose along with some hints of spices. The smell of pumpkins becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: Like the smell, the initial taste has flavors of pumpkins and notes of pumpkin spices become evident towards the finish; these flavors become stronger as the beer warms up. No sweetness is perceptible.
M: It feels a bit shy of medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Remarkably, there are no traces of alcohol noticeable in the taste so this beer is very drinkable despite its strength. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try a glass of the Netherlands' first pumpkin beer.
