I had this at a place in Riedenburg called Gasthof Zur Post, as the brewery ausschank was closed that day... A 0.5l glass vom Faß.
This hefe has a rich, deep golden color; almost orange. It's cloudy and has a very slow but steady carbonation rising within. Head is light tan and creamy; steady at 1/4" after ebbing a bit, and leaves very good stick. Very strong on clove aroma, with banana a close second. Almost smells spicy, too. Body is just a tad less than medium, but the bier is creamy-smooth on the tongue, with no prickliness.
Flavor is crisp and light, with the clove there, but in this case outweighed by the banana. Also has a touch of citrus and a slight, spicy sharpness. Dry and refreshing, this is a very good hefe.
