A: Pomgranite red, dark brown with a ruby orange hue, almost like stain glass window. Seriously, when held to a bright light it reflects flashes of red in a really surreal way. No head, no apparent carbonation.
S: Sour quality, vanilla, fresh apple cider, caramel, cherry salt water taffee, red licorice, alcohol as well.
T: Woah. Okay, I get initially a hugely sweet brew, caramel, chewy cherry candy, red licorice, some alcohol presence but mostly as fumes in the nostrils. There is a sort of orange and tropical fruit note as well, but not as in west coast hop, more of a fruity quality in the background. Light sourness.
M: Almost flat with a very syrupy body. I am reminded of an imperial stout at times due to the texture.
O: I got this because the store owner said it was more sour than Duchesse. Really? Maybe he made a mistake. There is a sour quality, and I don’t regret buying this brew as its unique, and my first from this brewer. Got and Drank in Kunming March 18th, 2015.
