Caramel brown in color. Tan head.
A lot of cherries up front. Fairly tart. Has a nice dose if whiskey and oak. Caramel with a light note of chocolate. Kind of malty. Light vanilla and spices. Very complex. Fairly rich.
Mouthfeel: dry and tart. Medium bodied.
Overall, a great beer. Loved the fruit flavors and the barrel flavors blended together. Very enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in a Town Hall chalice glass.
Appearance: Color is a dark brownish amber with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big three finger off white head which slowly fades away. Leaves a good amount of lacing.
Smell: A bready and fairly roasty barrel forward aroma with big hints of whiskey and toasted malt. Big upfront barrel presence with hints of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, wood, and oak. Toasted malt with hints of biscuit, toasted bread, grains, chocolate, toffee, caramel, and cracker. Belgian yeast with some pepper spice. Dark fruit hints of fig and dates. Some earthy hops in the background. Pretty solid.
Taste: Like it smells, a dark bready and fairly roasty taste with big notes of whiskey and dark malt. Upfront barrel taste with big notes of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, wood, and oak. Some Belgian yeast with black pepper notes. Toasted malts with notes of biscuit, toffee, caramel, chocolate, toast, grains, and cracker. Dark fruit undertones with notes of fig, dates, and raisin. Subtle earthy hops in the background. A very solid taste.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Fairly chewy and drying. Booze presence is felt but its still fairly smooth.
Overall: A very solid twist on a Belgian Bruin style brew. Good whiskey barrel presence with some solid dark malt notes.
