Pours a layer of white head. Leaves some decent lace. Color is a clear golden straw yellow.

Aroma: Dank and earthy hops. Kind of weedy. Has a decent amount of pine showing. A light layer of biscuity malts. Kind of grassy.

Taste: A lot like the aroma. Pretty dank and hoppy. Weedy and grassy with some pine notes. A light grapefruit tone shows here and a touch of malts.

Mouthfeel: Bitter with a touch of sweetness. Medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends a little sticky.

Overall, another big hoppy pale ale from TH. I really enjoy their pale ales. Pretty drinkable. The stickiness and bitterness could be toned down just a tad. Great stuff.

Another Saturday morning at my favorite beer hall in Minneapolis. Came down for the Centennial Pale and that's what I'm starting with. Drank from a generic pint glass.

Appearance- Pours a light hay tinted yellow with a beautifully fluffy one finger bright white head. A nice cap and collar are maintained along with a ton of lacing.
Smell- Perfumed nicely with a somewhat floral bouquet on first whiff. The pine of the centennial comes through nicely along with some earthy grass and a touch of mint. A crackery maltiness is apparent though with a touch of sweetness among the hop bouquet.
Taste- I've always thought this beer was a bit assertive for a Pale Ale but I guess for Town Hall standards, it is not. Starts with a nice bitter bite that's really pine sappy and earthy to the core. It borderlines on Noble Hop earthiness but that tinge of something fruity pulls it back. Almost a orange peel like taste for lack of a better description. A touch of sweet toast in the finish balances out the bitterness pretty nicely. Nice hoppy finish that lingers.
Moutfeel- Medium to heavier body with a nice crisp bite of carbonation and an oily resiny feel.
Drinkability- IPA, Pale Ale, whatever - this is a great brewski. A nice bite of hoppy bitterness that is totally drinkable and super tasty. Basically exactly what you expect from Town Hall and their world class usage of the hop.

Amber in color with a thick white head. The nose is mildly hoppy. The attack is creamy and gently hopped. The flavor is clean and consistent and finishes clean in the mouth for a hoppier beer. There is a consistent presence of hops throughout the beer that is front and center much more than the malt body.
Very good.

I'll preface this by admitting that Centennial is one of my favorite hops - I love what it does in Middle Ages Pale Ale, so...

Open the growler and smell the hops. A brilliant medium burnished gold with a white head that sits there like meringue. Killer aroma - toasted-biscuit and honeylike malt with citrus-pine hoppiness that screams Centennial.

Ohhh yeah - THIS is how you showcase a hop!!! Starts with a bitter, resinous bite that expands into this toasty, rindy, leafy (citrus and slight pine), slightly honeylike flavor that coats the mouth and hits just about every tastebud - OK, the salty ones are left wanting, but the bitter ones are hollaring "MORE!" too loud for any synapses to take notice. As much as this is a hopcentric brew, the underlying toasted biscuity malt keeps it from becoming unbalanced. Finishes with a lasting aromatic coarse hop flavor and bitterness that sits on the tongue happily. Mouthfeel is highly appropriate to the style. Could likely drink it all night if I were in a hophead mood - this stuff has to be insane on cask.

Town Hall knows how to handle hops in a brew. Flat out. Thanks to BA JeffKrenner for the growler!!!

Poured a nice slightly hazy, golden color with a beautiful head that only cask can deliver. Smell was citrusy and piney, with a soft biscuit note hidden in there too; even though the smell wasn't real strong, it was still very nice. Taste is certainly hoppy, but there is an almost perfectly balanced malt backbone to it. Hints of sweet malt hidden behind a generous amount of hops in just the way Town Hall knows how to do it. Low carbonation levels and a medium body make the mouthfeel almost creamy smooth. Just amazing drinkability, I wanted to sit and drink this all day, but sadly I didn't have enough time. Make a point to try this one when it's available.

Appearance is good, some foamy head, a little lacing but not a lot.
Smell was very good. Citrusy up front, with a good dry malt to follow and a bit of bitter hoppiness to finish.
Taste was good as well. Slight malt up front and nothing but hops after.
Mouthfeel was a bit light, but good, some carbonation but not a lot
Drinkability was good as well.

Nice clear golden color, a bit amber-ish. White, perfect, cask style head. The aroma was a little subdued since it was on cask, but you could tell it was sweet and fruity, musty/piney hops. A lot of different fruit flavors in this one, citrus flavor mainly of orange, but peach and apricot as well. I had both cask and tap, and the cask even had an almost banana flavor in there. The hops were delicious, they had a whole specturm of flavors, I kept noticing a musty-ness to them that almost created a ripe orange flavor with the sweet malt. Town Hall does an awesome job of these single hop pale ales, and this one is no different. They are sweet and simple, but so good you could drink them all night.

The second of two growlers that I finished this weekend

A—bright, cloudy, orange; ½ head with wonderful lacing that stayed throughout the life of the beer

S—hoppy, with a light citrus fragrance, slight floral scent as well; is that a little pine scent that I detect? It think so.

T—sweet and smoky, with a nice hop feel; finishes a little tangy as well; a nice dry pale ale bitterness

M—smooth and dry

D—easily have several of these. This has just become my favorite pale ale.

This one pours to a clear golden color with a tight white head. The aroma is juicy, citrusy, and floral. Overall a nice hoppiness in the aroma. The flavor is of juicy, citrus hops throughout. It has a nice light malt backbone. It is a very flavorful ale without the use of caramel malts. It is easy drinking, with a nice bitterness throughout. Another fine offering from Town Hall.

On-tap: Clear soft and light gold yellow color, much like most marco lagers with a soft creamy foamed white dense head about a finger high with some whispy strings of lace. Smell is where its at with this one. Wow, its lovely hopped up with a great fruityness and light dryness. I'm reminded of a dulled down version of lemon drops candy and bubble gum when sniffing this in. Highly aromatic with a pleasant fill of hops; citrusy, touches of dry leafyness or grassy grains and a lighty toasty backing of malts. Perfection. Now I know what Centennial hops bring to the table...fruit and dullish citrus. And the taste follows suit, imagine that, great hop character with long lasting flavors of dulled fruityness of light citrus and lightly dryish with a pleasing sweet bitterness overall. Touches of the malts make a slight appearance but this is all hops, and not in a overbearing sense. Super smooth body and feel thats a soild medium hold gaining a bit of fullness near midway and closing out with a soft fluffy dryness and hints of hoppy bitterness in a citrusy realm. Just floats down with a nice hoppy length of character with ease. Extremely drinkable! Very good stuff! One to have again and again. Just goes to show those who think a light yellow colored beer can have taste, and alot of it. May they eat their words with every sip of this stuff!

A hazy gold color, with a white head. This is a very god pale ale, very well pbalanced, not too hoppy, better than the Masala for rookies. Smooth and sharp at the same time, this was a nice beer, and I probably would've gotten it, if it weren't for my recent infatuation with hops...

Pale clear golden appearance. Soft white head. Retention is good and lacing adequate. Aroma is of fresh hops, grass, yeast and a little citrus. Very nice. The taste follows suit. Man! The Town Hall Knows Hops. Consistently, their Pale Ales, IPAs, Bitters, etc exhibit great hop character, flavor and depth. The hops (Centennial in this case) impart a smoky, grassy, herbal and resinous charater that is quite nice. An underlying toasted maltiness lays down an adequate foundation. I wouldn't have guessed that this brew approached 6% a/v. It's very drinkable with no sign of ethanol whatsoever. The carbonation is lively and the body if firm. Great pale ale here. And I'm not surprised.

Latest in the single-hop series, second after the Columbus, which was more of an IPA than a regular pale. No caramel malts were used in this, to keep the color light golden and let the hops shine through, and doing so prove that a light-colored beer can be full-flavored. True, the mates at the bar all marvelled how much it's appearance could be mistaken for a pint of Miller, but not when you taste it, oh, no!

Appearance: as already mentioned, perfectly clear, bright golden, sparkling yellow, with a nice, white head above.

Aroma: hop-hop-hoppy, with pine, citrus, peach, apricot, and more bursting forth, fruit forward, as they say in wine-land. Very appealing and inviting, sweet and tasty.

So, taste! Hops dance and sing on the palate, neatly buzzing the tastebuds, then softly fading, until the next sip, which isn't taking it's time in coming around..this is lovely stuff, and it likes being in the mouth! Light in body, with a long, fruity finish, good hoppy texture, very easily consumed, with a persistent, zingy, hoppy flavor. And there's just enough malt, too, where there's no worry of this pleasant creature turning into a hop monster. Quite high on the drinkability factor!

Another top notch effort from Town Hall!
