On tap at the brewpub...

Nice copper amber color, clear and bright on an absolutely freezing evening. Head is 1/8 of an inch to a skim in a minute, but laces in nice drips. Good aromas, plenty of slick caramel, of the lighter variety that shows unfolding sweet buttery qualities. Body is medium, smooth with excellent reserved carbonation. Flavor leans toward caramel tones, just a touch of cashew nutiness. Hopping is minimal but poised in that it matches the backbone throughout. Wow, a great quaffer -- would love to do a face off with Eliot Ness...

Crystal clear deep copper appearance. A thin and clingy beige head sits on top. Great malt nose. A lot of toffee and toasted malts. The taste is quite appealing to me. Toffee and biscuit tones dominate. Some herbalness coming from the hops I believe. A nice little dry snap on the finish. Good stuff. The body is about medium full and the beer feels great in the mouth.

Not sure of the meaning behind the name, whether it's some elusive punning bit of drollery, but it's a bit confusing, for this lager is not shy of shading. Neither can I be sure that I picked the correct stylistic designation, for the brewer says it was made to "no known style." It's my best guess.
Appearance: clear, rich amber color, with a nice, creamy layer of foam.
Aroma: sweetness itself, malty, fruity, lovely, a whiff of caramel.
Taste: tiny hop blast upon the palate, briefly bitter, then fading back, then comes the malt, toffee, nutty. Great texture, medium bodied, with a rich taste that returns on every sip and lasts tastily through the finish. There's a fullness of flavor here, that starts slow, but builds, establishes it's delicious presence, and looms large.
Drinkability? Through the roof! You can drink this baby, again and again...
One very, very nice beer, and this appraisal coming from one who normally disdains lager offering. This, too, is the first bottom-fermenting brew I've had from Town Hall. I wouldn't mind having this again!
