Appearance: clear, bright crimson colored, large and lush creamy head. Looking great.
Aroma: Bright, bold and brash hop attack hits the nose first, loads of fruity esters enter the scene, with much malt holding fast behind. Spicy, fruity hop notes ride high through all.
Taste: Big in the nose, bigger on the palate, massive download of hoppiness spreads joy throughout the mouth. Spicy rye malt flavors start to rise up and color the character. Rye flavor bumps up against a slice of sweetness, leading to an overall smoothness. Smooth with character and complexity. Medium body, long hoppy finish. This one's a winner.

One of the better Rye IPAs that I have had, served on cask. Still not my favorite style, but I would gladly drink this one again.

750 mL mason jar growler poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep ruby amber body. Small white head and a thin collar.
Smell - Grapefruit hops. Some rye. Caramel malts. And diacetyl. Ick. Not too strong, but definitely there.
Taste - Hops up front. Kinda floral. Toasted malt more than caramel. Rye adds a nice sharp punch in the back and keeps it interesting. Nice flavor, really. But then the diacetyl kicks in.
Mouthfeel - Medium carbonation. Pretty light. Never sweet. Slightest bit bitter in the finish.
Overall - I expect this would have been a really nice red rye if it weren't for the diacetyl. Oh well.
