On tap at the brewpub. Served in a 10 oz. chalice.
Appearance: Color is a very hazy straw yellow. Moderate amount of bubbles and about one finger of white head that settles into a thin patch.
Smell: A fruity, spicy, and sweet wheat driven smell with hints of red wine, spices, and citrus. Belgian yeast with big hints of coriander along with some clove and white pepper. Wheat grains with hints of straw and cracker. Big citrus fruit scent with hints of orange, lemon zest, and lime. Red wine barrel comes through with hints of sour grapes, oak, and acid. Some candied sugar hints as well. A very good smell.
Taste: Like the smell hints at, a fruity, spicy, and zesty wheat driven taste with good notes of red wine, citrus, and spices. Belgian yeast with spice notes of coriander, white pepper, and clove. Wheat grains with some soft notes of cracker and straw. Nice zesty citrus fruit taste with notes of lemon zest, orange, and lime. The barrel comes through nicely with red wine notes of grapes, oak, and wood. Sweet candied sugar notes as well. A very nice taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Juicy with a nice drying finish. Booze heat is masked nicely.
Overall: A really good imperial twist on a Belgian Wit. The wine barrel notes blend in great with the zesty Wit flavors.

Hazy yellow orange. Lots of citrus fruit flavors. Wheat and lemon zest. Oaky with lots of the tannins. The wine barrels show nicely here.
Still light in body. Lively carbonation. Great feel with and nice clean finish.
Very well done. One of the highlights for me this year.
