4.10% 2012 batch. Served in a tulip glass.

Copious head of mocha foam that rises to the rim, slowly forming a convex dome above the rim and then settling slowly, leaving behind copious lacing inside the glass.

Ashy dry roast, light coffee and dry bakers chocolate in the aroma.
With a swirl there's a light lactic milk chocolate note that develops.

Dry bitter roastiness, light smoldering ash and graphite in the aftertaste. Medium bodied and creamy, easy drinking and a definite full-flavored session porter. Balanced levels of wood smoke, doesn't eclipse the porter and blends seamlessly.

Big thanks to Jef for the trade and south side hang!

Very close to black. Some ruby tinting is noticed. Thick, frothy light brown head. Retention is better than average and a moderate amount of sagging lace is left behind. Awesome nose of roasted malts. And chocolate and char as well. Some citrusy, PacNW hops check in on the nose as well. On the palate, the smoke is quite delicate. Not jerky like. Not bacon like. More like a campfire in the distance. Subdued. The porter qualities are donimant and very enjoyable. Roasted malts, chocolate, burnt malts, bitter roasted tones and a bit of bitter hops. Quite delicious. And the body is about medium-full. Mouthfeel is closer to prickly than creamy. Nice porter.
