Poured from 750ml Town Hall growler. From the 2017 barrel aged releases, cap is dated '2.20.17'. Selection is 'Single Barrel Reserve'.
Slightly cloudy, reddish deep amber colored body. Initial pour brings forth a one finger light tan, fizzy head that noisily bubbles away, and leaves a few rising bubbles to feed the interrupted thin ring. No lacing.
Aroma of brown sugar (close to burnt), green apple, oak bourbon barrel, and vanilla.
Taste is slightly sweet and fortified by the bourbon barrel. Flavors of brown sugar, raisins and prunes, and vanilla.
Such a smooth mouth feel, in a medium to full feel. Lower carbonation.
Still a real treat, even after two years in a sealed glass growler. Rich and spicy.

This beer arrives a beown color. The head is nothing, but that is how barrel aged beers are. The aroma is of dates, raisens, mild anise, mild allspice, some oak, minimal vanilla which is a good thing for a quad (I'd guess that this isva second fill barrel). The taste leans more on the spice of the quad, and, perhaps, the spice of the barrel (was it a rye barrel). There is a marmalade type sweetness too...date marmalade (is that a thing). There is a lot going on in both the flavor, and aroma of this beer. The only thing that could make it better is if they were all stronger. The mouthfeel is full bodied with a chewy texture. The carbonation is appropriately low. Overall, this is a wonderfully complex beer. If you like BA beers, and subtlety is the same beer this is a must try.

Pours a light tea color with crimson/pink hues, a thin soft grey/white head circles this brew. Smell of the barrel right away it mixes with slight fruit and caramel. Taste has a superb barrel presence and taste. Its soft warm and mature with lush bourbon just slight fruit , a touch of vanilla and caramel . Very soft mouth feel, with very little ABV heat, such a smooth mellow bourbon finish. Delicious and warming the barrel is the crown .. very easy to sip and enjoy.

Khaki head. Caramel brown with a ruby hue.

The single barrel really shows. Lots of bourbon shows here. Oakay and vanilla notes. Hints of coconut. Caramel and toffee. Malty. Sweet. Warming.

Medium to full boding. Warming bourbon all over.

This is a big upgrade from regular foolish angel. Supposedly this barrel was 4 roses and I could see that. So much bourbon here.
