A-Dark amber/light brown color

S-Toffee, hard/mineral water

T-Mildly sweet..a little dark cocoa...finishes with some earthy hoppiness

M-Lighter side of medium bodied...closes dry

D-Nice drinker...solid effort here....pretty flavorful for the style..sometime I think there are not enough of these lower ABV beers made and this one proves they can still be tasty.

Appearance: Deep copper hue. Medium sized beige head. The creamy froth leaves an abundant amount of lace, as is the norm with TH brews.

Aroma: A little toffee. A little chocolate. A little whiff of hops.

Taste: Nice toffeeish malt base. Chocolate accents nicely in this one. Not a lot mind you, but I get it. Hops give it a little herbal character.

Mouthfeel: Very nice. Low carbonation coupled with a medium body gives this beer a velvet like feel. Silky smooth.

Drinkability: This beer just flows. It's tasty. Very easy to drink. And enjoyable. One of the better milds I've had.

In the style of Old Speckled Hen, they say, hence the poultry-themed name.

Clear, pale bronze color, good creamy/beige froth holds court on top.

Nose is soft and sweet, malty. Smells like fresh wort, a bit, actually. Or spent grain, somewhere in the neighborhood.

Smooth on the palate, very mellow and mild, and once more, grainy. Very little when it comes to hops, easy drinkable, low alcohol, how much, I didn't catch, though. Flavors of cherries and apple coming through the grain.

Nice, easy drinking English-style ale. But not for me, I need more hops!
Gonna have to crack a growler of the Mama after this, for some hop infusion.
