Copper color with almost no head. Spicy nose that is reminiscent of sausage. The spice in the nose smells like sage or poultry seasoning. The attack is is spicy and it builds to a pinnacle before it sort of "turns" in the mouth then smoothes out. Spicy finish and aftertaste. Very interesting beer that I have to say gets some points for character and originality. This is compiled from notes and may or may not be on tap currently.

CLear, deep toffee amber color, thin off white cap for a head. The aroma is full of ginger up front, folled by some honey notes and toasted caramelly malt. The taste is again pretty full of ginger, sweet and watery honey, with the raspberry showing up more in the aftertaste. Some hints of caramelly malt.

Overall: the ginger seemed a bit out of place in this one. The mouthfeel was a bit too watery, it need ed a better malt back bone. I think it would benefit from some more noticable hops as well. Its easy enough to drink, and what I liked the most was the raspberry in the aftertaste, but overall I felt this one was kind of a miss.

Had this one on tap at Town Hall last night. I thought the combination of ingredients was interesting, to say the least.

The most notable aroma is the ginger. This smell is followed by some hints of lemony citrus but not too powerful. The taste is very surprising and hard to pin down at first, but as the pint is consumed it becomes more defined. Ginger is the most notable flavor but it also has a 'grassy' type flavor that is fairly dominant. I can't help but think the beer is missing something and the mouthfeel is a bit thin at times.

Overall, an interesting and ambitious style that I'm glad to have tried. Very drinkable, but slightly lacking in flavor and mouthfeel.

(I know the style category is wrong here, but I wasn't allowed to add it as "Herbed/Spiced Beer" and couldn't think of where else to put it..."Scottish Gruit/ Ancient HErbed ale"?)

Third in the Storm series, after Thunder and Winter, seasonal brews using honey, lemon grass, and some spices. This one employs raspberry blossom honey, ginger, and lemon grass, American malts, American yeast....not sure about the hops.

Clear, amber/dark orange color, huge billowing creamy head, intense carbonation in the glass...

Ginger hits the nose, first, then the fruit...sweet honey underneath...not much from malt, little if any from hops.

Pleasant on the tongue, if unobtrusive...sweetness, well balanced, is in charge...intriquing flavor, but simple interplay on the palate. Could use more something something...

A unique combination of ingredients, an unusual and delightful flavor...but lacking in depth, texture, body...quite drinkable, though.

A good experiment, sure to find it's fans...just not sure if I'm one of them.
If it had some hops, I'd like it better, I think...without them, this just lies on the tongue, doing nothing...
