Clear, light crimson coloring, slim white head.
In the nose: Sweet and sharp. The tannins, fruit notes, and oak of the red wine barrel come through first. Underneath, the sweetness of the tripel pops out. Barrel's done it's work.
In the mouth: Repeat. Juicy red wine flavors dominate the palate. Barrel flavors have covered up the character of the tripel. Not that I mind. Light-ish bodied, pulsating with the flavors of the barrel. Alcohol strength is roaring up, and spilling all over. Quite tasty. I'm digging this a bunch.
Belgian style Tripel aged in red wine barrels.

My 300th TH beer!
White head. Clear golden color.
Fruity and herbal on the nose.
Taste brings a nice red wine, herbal, fruity bouquet. Honey sweetness. Perfume notes. Oak. Spice and vanilla. Tannins. Complex and enjoyable. Very well done.

Look: clear, bright red, minimal head, but its barrel aged so that comes with the territory. Aroma: more brightness, citrus bowl, fresh cherries, hay, yeast. Taste: tons of Luxardo cherries, tannins, less hay and barnyard than the aroma but they're still there. Mouthfeel: medium bodied, silky texture, moderate carbonation. Comments: this one's a winner. It's balanced yet bold.

Pours a mostly clear golden copper color with a white head. Smell was fruity, spicy with a wood and vinous notes. Taste was fruity sweet and spicy has some char mixed with tart cherries and a merlot/rose finish . A sweet and tart mouth feel with wood, char and a dry finish, this is a nice addition.
