Clear and dark shade of mahogany/scarlet red. Beautiful. Thin creamy brown head leaves more than adequate amounts of lace as I drink. The aroma is exceptional. Perfect amount of roasted coffee bean with a blend of roasted malts and caramel. Taste brings more of the same. Coffee, caramel and roast. Good combination. The java/roast bitterness lingers nicely just for a little. Body is about medium or so. Solid beer.

On-tap at the brewpub: A softly ruby tinted brown, low glowing, yet bright. Small and light off-white/tannish foam is present when served. Small amounts of lacing are spotted across the glass.

Aroma is quite sweet and maple-y with a low formed coffe noting over a waffle-like doughyness.

Well, even though the aroma was kinda light, the taste of this stuff is remarkably complex in a hugely yummy sweet malt character. Literally, it tastes like sweet Belgain waffles with a ton of sweet maple syrup, then touched in the finish with an oaty sweetness and brief rounded, creamy, coffee roast. Malty rich and thickly set in a heavy handed maple syrup ending with its very nice noting of creamy coffee. Breakfast in a glass!

Body is malty rich and pretty heavy to take in after awhile. Its quite slick, buttery, sweet, soft, creamy, and malt laden like a Doppelbock would be. Its full on liquecence is very nice on the palate with a sweet rounded quality that nearly screams eat me, not drink me.

Wonderful surprise of a brew! Absolutely yummy! And man...This stuff would be phenomenal to barrel age!

Pours a very dark brown with a red tint. A large tan head forms and has excellant retention. Large amounts of sticky lacing is left on the glass during consumption.

Aromas of coffee and musty malt. A slight mocha quality exists.

Taste is of iced coffee, the caramel malt adds a sweetness to the overall flavor of the brew. It does have a slight mocha quality as well. Leaves a lingering coffee bitterness in the finish.

Feels a little thin and watery. Carbonation is low.

This beer is for coffee lovers. I could not drink more than a pint or two in a session before I would like something a little cleaner tasting.
