Had a glass of this tasty treat a few weekends ago at Town Hall Brewing while in town for the Darkness release. I had this following a glass of Masala Moma and I was afraid it would be sort of a letdown. Wrong. Drank out of a small Brandy snifter.

Appearance- Pours a semi chill hazed reddish brown with a small quarter finger bright white creamy head. A small collar is left around the rim of the beer with very little lacing.
Smell- Heavenly! Loads and loads of whiskey soaked caramel goodness. Smells fairly sweet from the start with tons of woody vanilla and booze. A bit of booze soaked dark fruits such as black cherries and raisins seem to envelope the beer a bit more as it warms. The whiskey is hardcore though, nice!
Taste- Exactly like the nose. Big and bold with a strong kick of booze right from the start. With my limited experience of Wheatwines they haven't covered alcohol very well. The Whiskey is strong and mixes really well with toffee like sweetness. Almost something resembling red licorice hides in the background. Wood and vanilla linger along with a slight alcohol burn.
Mouthfeel- Very full bodied with a super creamy, velvety feel with very little carbonation.
Drinkability- The alcohol in this brew is fairly prevalent but with everything going on it can get lost. If I had not been wanting to try some of the other offerings I definitely would have had another glass of this, easy. It was the best new beer I had all weekend (other than Coffee Bender but that doesn't count, it's the greatest beer ever brewed). Fantastic beer!
