Taster flight at brewpub. Medium to dark amber, still, tight ring of fine foam. Aroma, sniff hard enough and you'll get a trace of malt. Taste brings the toasted malt, brown bread flavors. Sweet up front, light bitterness at the back.

This beer arrives a clear dark red color. The head is a half inch in height, and recedes somewhat fast. The aroma malty with toffee, light caramel and hints of green tea. The taste is similar. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with appropriatelt mild carbonation. Overall, this is a solid Irish Red Ale. I've had better from both Town Hall and others, but this beer is drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in a standard shaker glass.

Appearance: Color is a deep amber brown with a moderate amount of bubbles. About two fingers of off white head that fade into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a lot of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A very malt forward aroma with lots of sweet caramel and biscuit. Toasted malts with hints of sweet caramel, toffee, bready biscuit, toast, yeast, and nut. There is also a roast presence giving a hint of chocolate. Hops are very light but there is a earthy grass scent in there. A pretty solid red ale aroma.

Taste: Follows the nose well, a very malty taste of toasty sweet caramel with some roast flavor. Toasted bready malts with good notes of sweet caramel, toffee, biscuit, nuts, and yeast. The roast element comes out even more here with a nice kick of chocolate flavor. Light grassy hop taste towards the finish. A pretty good red ale taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very creamy, clean, and smooth.

Overall: A very solid version of a Irish Style Red Ale. Good sweet caramel malt taste with a really nice kick of roast chocolate.

Pours a 1/2 finger of beige head. Color is an amber brown. Some clarity with this one.

Aroma: Caramel malts and some sweetness. Pretty malty. Very slight hop presence.

Taste: More malts again. Caramel and biscuit flavors. Again, it is pretty sweet. A hint of grassy hops show here.

Mouthfeel: Clean is the best way to describe this. Starts clean, ends clean. Light to medium bodied. Medium amount of carbonation.

Overall, a decent Irish red. Pretty straightforward. Simple, but enjoyable.

On-tap at the brewpub: Nice tawny red hue with a thin capping of off-white foam slipping off the top. Bits of lace creep about the glass.

Aroma is mostly malt, red, pale, and caramel make a nice sweet mix with a dallop of creamy fruityness of dull banana, apple, cherry, and apricot.

Taste is quite the bold malt creation as its crispyness is superseded by a tenderly rounded malt tone of red and caramel malts with a glimpse to some pale and chocolate too. Sweetness is fruity but quite subdued in more of a afterthought but pleasantly acceptable. Nibbles of dry wood noted hops sneak into its finish as it stays bold and clean the whole way through.

Body is fairly beefy and close to full with a clean, rounded crispness wrapped within a very bold maltyness. It has a nice grab to it within its carbonation that enhances the whole maltyness go down.

One finely done Irish Red if there ever was one. Not completely drinkable however as its boldness in body was surprisingly slow to the sip.

It's a red beer with nice color and clarity. Small lingering head.
Malty aroma with good hops.
I taste a harsh, grainy, astringent bite, which makes this a not-so-easy drinking beer.
Also lacks body. No lacing.
Not terrible, but I would not order a second.

It's red, indeed, red all the way, with an nice beige head.

Malty nose, sweet, rich, and full....a little fruity and herbaceous...some caramel malt in there. A little chocolate, too...actually a lot. Mmmm.

Very full-bodied, rewarding and delicious. Have to say it again, Mmm, mmm.
