I'm usually very good about logging reviews immediately, but when it comes to Town Hall they change their beers so often that I fall behind. Here is my backlog of napkin reviews stuffed in the back of my desk drawer.

Was going to send a growler of this out to someone after talking it up, but missed the boat as it was gone.

No date, but this was released around Thanksgiving.

Pours pitch black with tan head. Decent enough retention but minimal lacing. 4.0

Roasted malts up front with bitter bakers chocolate like bitterness. 4.0

Strong, roasted malt character dominates. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Vanilla. 4.5

Mouthfeel is medium, lighter than expected. Soft carbonation. 4.0

Drinkability is solid. 4.0

Overall, another great offering from Town Hall, I will gladly have this again. 4.0

A-dark brown....nice creamy light brown head and lace

S-Dark chocolate....molasses...prunes...a little boozy scent

T-The dark chocolate is strong but also some molasses, black currant and black licorice....nicely done. Gets roastier as it warms

M-Medium to full bodied but creamy textured as it warms.

D-Nicely done baltic porter pretty close to style....would like to see the body just a little bigger.

The 3rd of the three Thanksgiving themed brews that I've sampled today (not sure how a Baltic Porter is Thanksgiving themed). Drank from a generic pint glass.

Odin - 8.5% Baltic Porter

Appearance- Pouts a pitch ass black with a small half finger dark tan head. A decent cap and collar is maintained but hardly any lacing is left.
Smell- Insanely roasty and deep with a smell that screams all malt. It smells dry and bitter (from the char) with hints of cocoa beans and pure dark chocolate. Freshly ground French roast and a kiss of vanilla.
Taste- Extremely malty and dry with a super malty charred taste. Sort of a de-bittered char though because it doesn't have that ultra crass or astringent unpleasant taste that a load of non hopped malt can get. A touch of coffee works in (especially in the finish) as does a fair amount of dark chocolate. Maybe some molasses and black licorice as it warms but it's subtle. You can tell it's lagered as it's crisp and fairly clean despite the earthy char.
Mouthfeel- Perhaps slightly smaller than I would have liked but somewhere near medium bodied. A dry chalky finish with surprisingly aggressive carbonation.
Drinkability- Such a good beer. It's got that great chocolate/coffee thing going on without the interference of a hoppy, citric bite. I'm amazed it's as charred as it is without that terrible astringent bite. Kudos again to Town Hall!

Odin Baltic Porter

Dark brown appearance, nearly black, with ruby highlights, sneaking in there. Nicely roasted tan head. Big and beautiful. Lookin' good.

Fine and mellow aromatics, dark fruit emerging as it warms ... cocoa, molasses, rich and dark.... a little licorice. Juuuust right.

Taste: full-bodied,rich in flavor, nicely balanced. Cocoa and coffee, plus raisins, figs, dark rum, sweet stuff, matched with a batch of bitterness. Good hoppitude here.Maybe hoppier than it ought to be, but I'm still liking it.Or maybe it's the 8% talking here.

Odin gets tastier and tastier as it warms. Hoppier, richer, and more flavorful. And yummy. Mmmm.

Pours brown and fills the glass with an inky blackness. A small spongy dark tan fluff smoothes over the top quickly to a broken skim and a thin collar ring. A few skinny strings of lace get bent about the glass.

Aroma is fairly low key with a bit of rounded dark chocolate and a small twang of fig and raisin.

Taste has a tender smokey smacked front and a well established and well handled tang of dark malt fruityness that eludes to date, fig, and raisin. A roasty tang seeps in the middle areas as it carries slow and long into the finish with a touch of creamy bittered chocolate, sweet vanilla, and a touch of sour molasses and creme brule.

Feel is smooth and tangy enveloped in a creamy medium body and has a slight perk of carbonation on the tongue that encapsulates the flavors quickly onto the tongue and slowly takes in some subtle nuances and charcter of the deeply dark ample tangy flavors.

A very solid Baltic Porter and quite drinkable. Another holiday wonderment to have just in time for Turkeyday.
