Headed down to Town Hall for the release of the Jack Daniel's Barrel Aged Czar Jack and since we got there early, I had this first. Drank from a generic tulip.
Appearance- Pours a hazy orange yellow with a huge fluffy one finger head. Great cap and collar with TONS of lacing.
Smell- Lightly fruity with a definite apricot smell. Lightly sweet, almost like lactose is in it. The apricot is fairly overbearing and I don't get much else in the way of fruitiness. Doesn't smell particularly bitter or hoppy. Just apricot.
Taste- Starts fairly sweet and fruity. Lightly bitter with a bit of dandelion and grass mixed in. Touch of toffee and alcohol. Finish is sweet, slightly cloying even, with a slight bit of warming.
Mouthfeel- Very thick and almost syrupy with a light zip of carbonation.
Drinkability- Uhhhh... Not the best fruited brew I've had from Town Hall that's for sure. Definitely not bad but just not quite right. It's a bit too sweet for my liking and the syrupy thing is a bit much. The first ½ of the glass was okay but after that it was sort of hard to finish. Glad I tried but Town Hall has made better.

Served in a 10 oz gobbler. Pour is a nice hazy orange color with a off white cap that has good retention and leaves some nice lacing.
The nose is very fruity, apricots out in full force. The base IPA is really good, with great citrus and floral hop characters combining with the fruitiness of the apricot. This reminds me a lot of Mango Mama, in the amount of fruit addition compared to the base IPA. Great stuff.
Tastes even better, bit citrus notes with apricots and oranges. Bitter hops, this time more piney but still has a nice floral quality to it.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a crisp carbonation and a bitter bite. Crisp texture, with good drinkability.
Overall, another great IPA from Town Hall. These guys just can't do wrong. Anything they touch turns to gold, it's rediculous.
