Now listening to: Romantics - What I Like About You

A- funky, cloudy brown with a thin amber white head
S- mild sweeteness like caro syrup, no hop aroma
T- better than the nose would lead you to believe, but not amazing.
M- better than the appearance would lead you to believe. I was expeting somethig way off by looking at this, but found that the body and carbonation were fine
D- I ran through a taster of 5 regular beers, followed by 5 special releases. I think that they have a much more solid line-up of regular beers than seasonal releases.

Tawny reddish murky brown in color, not much yellow to be found. Thin off white head. Typical dunkel aromas, some banana, quite yeasty providing some spicy clove and citrus zest, toasted grains with some caramel and coco. The taste was quite zesty upfront, then some layers of banana, yeast, and bread reveal themselves. Kind of thin mouthfeel compared to say a Bavarian dunkel, but most of the flavors of one are there.

The low down: drinkable dunkel, brewed to style. Nothing flashy here. I am not going to rush down there for one, or strongly recommend this to a friend, but its a decent session beer.

Appearance: Hazed and murky auburn tone. Thin, creamy beige head. Lace is sporadic.

Aroma: Dry cocoa powder, yeasty banana esters, a little roast and a little chocolate.

Taste: This beer has some nice things going on, but they're a little on the weak side compared to the typical Town Hall standard. A little chocolate and some nice yeasty esters. Very slight banana. Decent enough.

Mouthfeel: A little on the thin side. Carbonation is appropriate, but the body could use a little more heft.

Drinkability: Don't get me wrong, downing a growler of this will be no problem tonight, but this beer is just a titch thin compared to the normal TH standard.

On-tap at the brewpub: Muddled brown with a solid capping of lightly tanned frothy foam. Keeps a good amount of lacing strung about.

Aroma is wheaty sweet with a soft haze of banana, cocoa, and some clove spicing.

Taste is fairly firm with a good base of wheaty fruity sweetness and rounded out cocoa with some slushy banana notings as it goes through the middle. Clove spice is light to medium and touches just a bit of dryness and grain in the finish. Stays smooth and soft with a good wheat fluff and hefe-like substance.

Has a good body of wheat based malt and evenly balanced flavors that sit well across the palate among a medium body and carbonation. A smooth easy drinkin' brew for sure. Quite solid.

Poured a thick medium murky brown, very cloudy, a nice off-white to tan head leaving a solid foam on top, pretty decent lacing too. Banana, clove, chocolate, wheaty malt, pretty nice nose. Taste is similar, more banana, more caramel malt, its not some crazy fantastic dunkel but a very good drinker. Very smooth, very easy to drink, right amount of body and carbonation, another solid offering from Town Hall.

Murky brown mixed with crimson coloration, solid swath of creamy white caps the top.

Sweetness in the nose, wheaty, whiffs of banana and spice. Soft and airy.

Much fruit in the flavor, banana, some citrus and clove, some caramel from the malt, and it's all very smooth and flavorful. Lush and lovely.

Smooth and easy-drinking, refreshing, just enough wheat texture. Medium-bodied, with plentiful flavor.

Yum, yum, bubblegum.
