Crowler can purchased during the brewer's Barrel Aged Week. Can fill date is '2/29(2024)'.
Ruby, dark brown colored body. Initial burst of khaki colored head, about three fingers, and this fades away in about two minutes, leaving a minor surface storm and ring. Only tiny fragments of lacing.
Aroma is very fragrant with bourbon oak, milk chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, honey, and caramel.
Taste has an initial balance of prune/date and high ABV% bourbon and oak. Slightly later the milk chocolate arrives and lingers. Vanilla and caramel add complexity. Aftertaste loses much of the initial high dose of alcohol flavors.
More than medium mouthfeel, with some silkiness. Stays away from any alcohol burning; stays sweet throughout. Supportive carbonation.
Presents standard milk stout flavors but adds depth with the bourbon barrel aging.
