Enjoyed on-tap @ the Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery in Minneapolis, MN in a $9 Flight tasting. Tapped from the Clock Tower tap handle with “4” on it from their last Infusion Series brew and they haven’t gotten a new one yet into 10oz Short Stange Glass. Has 6% on the brew-menu. This is the part of the Limited Infusion Series and it is #5 of the Series.
Aroma- Strong cherries and AWESOME brewer's licorice found lingering. Not much roastiness, but can tell the malt and sweetness is around. Kept coming back to this but the cherries made the beer aroma here.
Appearance- Received with .5 finger head, dies but not worried. Has a very dark brown color body that is opaque. Leaves no suds or lace.
Flavor- Strongest cherry taste from the beginning. Finish is very sweet and malty. Easy, light hop bitterness at the finish but its presence is definitely in here. Tastes like it could be paired with desserts or cheesecake. Can't get better for a Stout!
Mouthfeel- Medium-Full Bodied, Light Carbonation, Velvety, and very sweet with bit of tart flavor at finish.
Overall Impression- Reminds me of Bell's Kalamazoo Stout but has much more cherry flavor involved. Not sure the oatmeal part in here and is why I can't give it a 4.5/5... I'm pretty sure the cherries overpowered any presence of this happening. Go for this one! Without a doubt, this was my favorite from the entire day!! Rock Solid!
