On tap at Winterfest 2003, St. Paul, MN...
Dark brown to black with some light transmission...tannish head that starts out at about 1/4 of an inch. Really does have some sugary oak cask aromas, some smoke and lots of molasses. Alcohol power asserts early, lots of a Southern Comfort impression of sweetened whiskey. A wonderfully chocolate and gravelly hop sensation closes the impression. Theres also a very cool Juicy Fruit flavor mid mouth. So, Southern Comfort to Juicy Fruit to chocolate...very cool complexity. This one had me, Bighuge, and Senior heading back for more. World class "imperial" Porter in my opinion.
