This ale is another in a series of differently formulated cask IPA's by the brewer here. It cascades nicely and settles into a clear coppery amber color, with a small white head and delicate white lacing on the glass. The smell is citrussy, almost lemony. It tastes primarily of sharp citrussy lemony hops with a hint of pine. There is minimal malt taste. so the hops really come to the fore. The mouthfeel is refreshing and this beer is very drinkeable. I had it with a Buffalo chicken sandwich, and the flavors nicely complement the spicy taste of the sandwich. This one is a winner!

Malty hop nose. . .if that makes any sense. Both are present, but I would call it malty. The color is orange with a thick and a somewhat murky appearance. The flavor is malt forward with a touch of the hops. The mouthfeel is thick and not just because of the cask conditioning. There are some nutty undertones. The beer seems to be reminiscent of a trappist type of ale. My wife says that the taste to her reads like burnt popcorn. I could try and guess how to portray that for you, but since she called it I will let it stand as is.
