This is an extreme rarity for Great Waters-a beer that is not (currently) served at the brewpub, but was brewed for a special event-the Concrete and Grass musicfest in the Lowertown region of downtown St Paul. The fest runs through Saturday. Hopefully the beer will be available at the brewery after that. This pours an opaque dark brown color, with a substantial brownish head and good lacing on the plastic cup. The smell is is sweet caramel, along with a lemony wheat smell. The taste is complex, with a plum fruitiness, a caramel malt sweetness, as well as a lemony tart flavor. There is a slight sourness to the taste, which considering the flavors mentioned so far is to be expected. This is a full flavored ale with a full mouthfeel and a dark Belgian wheat beer that I find superior to the Janet Weiss beer at the brewpub.Get it at the musicfest and enjoy some good music while you're at it!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
