Dark gold to orange brown in color. Light head of foam. Hops on the nose and perhaps a mild hint of the chinook hops tea in the sense that there is a whiff of a "steeped" tea like material. Mild and smooth attack of the hops, it is very gentle. The hops flavor approaches you easily like a laid back old friend. The flavor dries out a bit at the finish. There is a presence of hops in the aftertaste. This beer has some more bite in the flavor than most of their casks. A little warming sensation in the belly. The tea? Perhaps in the flavor and the little bit in the nose that I mentioned. I am cautious about this one and wonder if its the power of suggestion. I would say that there is a tea like quality about it though. I had this at their "cask ale night" and have stopped back in since and seen the "chinook hops tea" wiped off the chalkboard with the beer names. Perhaps its a regular Rye PA on cask now, or perhaps they chose to wipe the tea off. I didn't ask. Perhaps this is already all gone.
