Served on cask, this pours a clear mahogany color, with a frothy tan head that leaves ample lacing on the glass. The smell is sweet and malty with a hint of smoke. The taste is predominantly malty and fruity. I taste plum and cherry. There is a hint of smoke(the brewer used a small amount of smoked malt), which adds a little bit of spice to this beer. The mouthfeel is suitably rich and the drinkability is such that I cannot drink any other offering while this is available. This is a terrific cask Scotch Ale. Prosit!
