Served in a shaped pint glass at Firkin.
Back at Firkin for the first time in over six months, starting with a pull from the cask of coffee stout. It pours a mostly clear midnight sienna topped by a minor bit of sandstone fluff. The nose comprises nutty coffee, mild roasted malts, and a bit of cocoa powder. The taste starts off with more of the same, but quickly an acrid coffee punch permeates the proceedings, putting me off indefinitely. The body is a lithe medium, with a light carbonation and a fluffily-smooth feel. Overall, this probably could have been a tasty coffee stout, but that acrid quality just ruined things for me.
