This new version titled LUX #13 bottled on 04/02/21 pours a
near opaque blackish brown with thin cola highlights and a light
head of tan foam that settles to a thin ring, thin wafting layer, and
shows some light lacing. Nose of rich mellow bourbon, brown
sugars, dates, figs, sweet cherry, and subtle vanilla. Flavors
pack the punch with vanilla, cherry, bourbon, brown sugars,
mellow oak, dates, golden raisin, subtle citrus notes of papaya,
cranberry (with warmth), and Merlot wine with touches of
leather and hints of tobacco. Very nice mouth feel; low carbonation,
smooth as silk, rich, lightly coating, smooth as satin, moderately
warming, and subtly dry.
Overall, saving one of these for a friend----This one would love a
bit of aging, but waiting is a major issue!
Cheers

Deep, dark brown with a small light tan head. The head disappears quickly. Smells like an aged barley wine-raisins, licorice and brown toast. Taste is awesome. Raisins, molasses, licorice, baker's chocolate, figs. Mouthfeel might be the best I've experienced in a bigger beer such as this. It's so, velvety smooth, coating of the mouth, slick and easy to swallow without leaving any cloying sweetness.
This beer has some age on it and it certainly helped. So easy to drink and no alcohol burn at all.

This beer is phenomenal. Pours a brownish/ black that allows some light in around the edges. little to no carbonation stays throughout the drink.
smell is exquisite. charred oak, vanilla, bourbon, sweet malts, molasses and chocolate. The flavors all come through in the sip. Nice alcohol burn. Its so mild of a burn, Just a "hey i'm here to warm you up" but nothing to make you pucker your lips.
The mouth feel is strong on this one. Syrupy and coats the entire mouth with the delicious flavor.
Saugatuck killed it with this one.
