It smells quite stout. I get malty sweetness and the richness of coffee. Not a hint of raspberry to be found.
It starts with a very stout coffee flavor but quickly gets sweet and the raspberry is very apparent.
It's rather thick with medium to little carbonation. The finish is first bitter, chocolaty and bold with stout but that recedes into light sweetness and very apparent raspberry.
This is really good. It would just be a really quality imperial stout but the clear addition of raspberry changes up everything for the better. Overall it's really good and interesting. I give it a 4.9 out of 6.

Tasty stout! 12oz can no date on can but on sticker them saying: "Please enjoy within 6 months of package date on bottom." ABV 9.8. From the can:" Tart fruity flavors paired with sweet chocolate decadence!? Could there be a better pair?! Skip right to the dessert course with this luscious Raspberry Chocolate Stout. Aged in Bourbon Barrels for 12 months to add an essence of vanilla, oak and caramel." Room temp 60+F. Slow pour in small tulip.
Look: dark black ambery pour, head fast disappears loud sound, big bubbles.
Smell: sour raspberry bourbon barrel.
Taste: bourbon sweet raspberry chocolate.
Feel: Light warm smooth and pruny
I want more this delicious stout!

Black in color with no penetration to light. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim. The aroma is of dark chocolate and faint raspberries. I’m tasting dark chocolate with tart raspberries in the back of the palate. I’m also tasting vanilla as it warms. The mouth is thick and syrupy.

Straight up my favorite beer from this brewery. It is a great desert beer. There is nothing overdone and no surprises, it is exactly what I expected and hoped for.

There are times when the backlog here at Chez Woody is CANfounding & this was one of them! I was rooting through the basement Beerfrigerator when I noticed a Crowler for The CANQuest (tm) that simply read "Raspberry Stout". Grrr! I inquired at the place of purchase & was enlightened that this was the beer. 8=O I am quite CANxious to drink it!
From the Crowler: "5/26"; "Raspberry Stout".
I find Crowlers to be tricky & this one was no different. The tab fought me during the Crack!ing open of the vent & the Glug had to be CANducted in such a way as to avoid dribbling since the vent sits further back than on smaller CANs. My Glug resulted in a finger of rolling, fizzy, foamy Deep-Brown head that dissipated as quickly as I poured! 8=O Color was Very Dark Brown to Black/Opaque (SRM = > 34, < 44) with cola highlights visible at the edges. Nose smelled pleasantly of chocolate & raspberry, not overwhelming nor cloying, both of which were a definite possibility. Mouthfeel was big, full & creamy, like a dollop had been scooped into my mouth & onto my tongue. The taste was sneaky & subtle, opening with a dark, bittersweet chocolatiness & a light raspberry fruitiness. I was heartened by all of this since I was CANcerned that this might be a dessert beer in terms of its flavor. Slowly, especially as it warmed, the flavors beCAN to blossom, with the bourbon giving it a honey-coconut quality that melded nicely with the flowery fruitiness of the raspberry. The raspberry flavor was rather ethereal throughout, especially given its top billing in the name. It was a subtle flavor, like standing in my late-paternal grandmother's backyard with the raspberry bush in bloom & taking in the scent, rather than indulging in the fruit. She also grew magnificent roses & the smell of the two was intoxicating in the summer with both in full bloom, enticing bees from far & wide. This beer was likewise very enticing, leading me to savor each sip before swallowing & allowing for time for CANsideration. For insCANce, how did my local (south-central PA) bottle shop score this keg?!? What took me so long to drink it? Why didn't they put more verbiage on the label? So many Qs & not enough As. I was reaching the end of the Crowler so it was time for both the Finish & last thoughts. Finish was in the Twilight Zone between semi-sweet & semi-dry. It's booziness was a CANtributing factor in this CANundrum. I was impressed, but not in love, with/by this one. A quart was a bit CANbitious, plus it was not my preferred Style. YMMV.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/13/2020. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a small fairly dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Got a bit of a fruit snot goop floating on top. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, tart/tangy raspberries, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, chocolate, raspberries, bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, tart/tangy raspberries, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, roast, char bitterness; fruit tang/tartness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, tart/tangy raspberries, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, dark/brown bread/crust, coconut, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, chocolate, raspberries, bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tart/tangy notes. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly slick/sticky/tangy/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 9.8%, and lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an excellent barrel aged fruited imperial stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, chocolate, raspberries, bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink on for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/tart/tangy/drying finish; great soft/silky feel for the ABV. Perfectly balanced rich malts, raspberries, chocolate, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering and well made style example as expected of the brewery. Not overwhelming on any aspect. No complaints!

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of bourbon, chocolate and subtle raspberry notes. Tasted boozy with rich, chocolate, vanilla, oak and just a touch of raspberry sweetness.
