L = Deep chocolate brown color, with unfortunately, virtually no off-white head. Just enough carbonation for minimal lacing.
S = The nose is quite nice. Notes of high quality coffee, wood, malt, sugar,
T = The taste of the coffee is quite nice, but there is sugar, bitterness, malt, and an unexpected sour note. It could be hops... but there is something here that detracts from what seemed a very promising brew, at the nose.
F = The mouthfeel is better than many coffee stouts, which tend towards sticky. This feels clean and fresh.
O = It's decent, and drinkable, but feels like it comes close to being something much better. I think Saugatuck has the know how to improve this. It's got some strengths, but is a solidly 'coulda woulda shoulda been a contender' brew.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This solid little stout pours pitch black
with a moderate head of fizzling foam that settles to a thin khaki ring.
Nose of espresso, dark bakers chocolate, char, roast, and dark berry
notes. Flavors lightly surpass the nose with rich espresso, bakers
chocolate, char, roast, brulee, and dark berry nuances. Mouth
feel is full, smooth, rich, coating, moderately slick, and finishing
with a nice bitter malt note that is subtly dry.

Overall, a solid little stout!

Cheers

The pour is coffee black with a barely there beige head that left no lacing whatsoever.
The taste is actually pretty nice, definitely coffee and cream flavors in addition to the base stout.
The feel is smooth and soft; either oats or lactose will add a softness, both are velvety smooth. Decadent without being too sweet.
OA, this is a very nice stout that punches above its weight.
