Not Your Granny's Ginger Ale was consumed on tap 8/10/13 at the brewpub.
Appearance - The beer was a copper color with a slight bubbly white head.
Smell - By far, this is biggest ginger aroma I have ever experienced in a beer. In smells like a quality imported ginger ale. By aroma alone, you might not know this is beer.
Taste - In the taste, one detects a woody ginger presence toward the front. It is a spicy type of ginger. Grassy notes are present in the background with a bicuity-like quality. In the aftertaste, the spice yields to dry Earthy notes.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is fairly intense in this beer. The ginger is brushes away fairly quickly, but the ginger lingers to a minor degree.
Overall - This is probably the best ginger dominated beer I have had. I am not sure it would have a big audience, but I would buy it in bottles.
