On-tap at Southend Brewery & Smokehouse, Charleston, SC
A: The beer is nearly jet black in color, only having slight traces of red near the corner of the glass. It poured with a finger high light than head that consistently left a short head covering the surface and a thick coating of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark roasted malts are present in the nose along with hints of cherries. The smell becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts along with notes of black cherries and hints of roasted malts. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a little smoothness.
O: The addition of cherry purée lends an interesting twist to this seasonal beer, but it seems like it could use some lactose flavors for being a milk stout.

A: On-tap at Southend Brewery. Had a black color and a thick consistency. There was an inch of creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.
S: A lot of chocolate in the aroma with some coffee as well.
T: Tasted of chocolate (a lot of chocolate), coffee, malt, and milk. Not your classic milk stout, but definitely a tasty beer, mostly due to the presence of chocolate.
M: A decent amount of carbonation with a slick finish. Medium-bodied.
O: On the whole, a solid, likeable beer.

Had at the southend brewery in charleston, sc. Very black without light getting through. Some lace and a single finger off white head. Vanilla, sweet malt with some roast and coffee notes. Taste is more of the same with the sweet vanilla and cream flavor dominating the roast/light coffee flavored in the background. Smooth. Moderate carbonation and medium to full body. This one is almost took sweet. It is a good milk stout overall.
