I like the aroma here though I wish there was more of it. It is raw, grainy, husky, and almost suggestive of peat. The flavor too is on-target but distant and timid. I might call it a hayfield beer for its casual grassiness. The cereal finish is a particular strongpoint.
ECs Altbier is clear mahogany. Most likely it's a better brew when fresh. My pint lacked zest.
