A strong sugary aroma and lush juicyfruit flavor define the early parameters of this winter seasonal until a brisk bitterness snaps into place and draws the beer to a close. The red, fruit sugar essences and slight wash of spice make for a spirited pairing. Festivus body is rosy-russet with a light velvety head trailing good splotchy lace.
This is one of the better holiday ales Ive had in recent years. Traditional, clean, and inspired.
