Served on draft at the Rogue Public House in Portland, the Natty Red pours a clear amber with a medium white head that fades to a thick collar, leaving scattered lace.
The Aroma is fantastic, bright and fruity, berries, mainly grape. Maybe one dimensional, but when it's that good, who cares?
The taste continues with the grape as well as sour cherry and rich malt, although there is also a weird tang to it I can't really place...not a show stopper, but could do without. Only had a 4oz. glass so will have to revisit this to see if I can break that down better...
The mouthfeel is light and creamy.
This is pretty drinkable, I had no idea of the ABV and wouldn't have guessed it was so strong. The fruit is nice, but that tang I'm not so sure about...probably goes well with cotton mouth, eh mon? =)

On tap at the Rogue Ales Publick House in San Francisco, where it was aptly re-named "No Fault Ale" to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the 1906 earthquake that devastated the city.
Rustic deep brown with auburn highlights. A creamy off-white head that leaves ringed lacing down the pint glass.
Strong rustic, floral hop aromas. Slight citrus hop notes with other light fruit esters: strawberry, pear. A creamy, almost caramel malt sweetness. Sharp whaffs of alcohol that seem to nicely balanced with the other aromatics.
Creamy, soft caramel/toffee malt flavors that are quickly followed by gritty, dark floral hops. Light fruity esters that are swallowed by an intensely sharp alcohol character. The floral hop character is very tasty, but the alcohol presence is very raw and lasting well into the aftertaste.
Medium to full in body. Gritty yet slick due to the alcohol character.
A young-tasting brew; rather raw. I'd love to have another one, but the intensity of the alcohol presence is too prevalant.

Called an “imperial red” by the brewer, this strong red ale won a bronze medal at the 2005 GABF. Natty has a light raspberry aroma and comes with an errant sudsy head and splotchy lace. It features bold malty contours with fruity, near- strawberry flavors. This, in turn, is shadowed by an alcoholic tinge and a firm bittering counterbalance of 85 IBU.
For those who admire bold balances, this is a genuine pleasure.
