750ml bottle bought from The House of 100 Beton Beers, Locranon, France
The beer pours a dark amber / coppery colour. Creamy head poured quite small and frothy and faded quickly leaving barely any lacing..
Aroma - Toasted caramel malts, sweet nuttiness, sweet fruits (plums, dates and figs), some soapy dishwater notes, brown sugar, some Belgian yeast / bread notes, quite herbal, some sour vinegar notes, leathery, some alcohol comes through, spicy, medicinal traces...
Taste - Lightly toasted caramel malts mixed with lots of balsamic vinegar sourness, strong spicy yeastiness, grassy hop bitterness, spicy fruits (raisins, figs, oranges, pears), burnt nuttiness, light liquorice...
Feel - Pretty sharp and dry... medium bodied... pretty drinkable as the 8% is very well hidden
Overall - A very average and slightly strange brew - a bit like a brown ale mixed with a Flanders red... just worth a try...

33cl bottle, best Sept 10, batch LA09. Poured into goblet.
Fizzy soda-like head is gone before I'm done pouring. Mahogany color.
Cola/spruce aroma, some woody characteristics and some herbal notes.
Very sweet, brown sugar like, with licorice and other herbal flavors strong in the finish. Some roasted malt character as well. Bitterness very low.
Mouthfeel is not so good, since the beer is basically flat. This makes it not so drinkable, either, although the alcohol is hidden.
