Got this one from my mate Marcel a while back. Cheers for the hops man!
From a bottle into a snifter
Best before December 2015
IBU: 60
Schwarz IPA
APPEARANCE: A clear brown pour yields a 1+ finger, fuller looking, creamy, light brown head with great retention. Clear black body with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a thicker creamy cap and clings to the glass. A splotchy wisp remains leaving some nice lacing down the glass.
Good looking brew for sure.
SMELL: Lots of pine from the simcoe hops, caramel and light melon notes, as well as some lightly roasted aromas behind the hops. Good stuff.
TASTE: Some roasted notes up front, with some pine and grassy hops as well. Big finish with more piney hops, bitterness, some grassy notes, light chocolate and hints of leather as well. Pretty flavorful with enough going on.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body with medium levels of carbonation. Very creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes somewhat dry. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff for sure. Lots of good flavor on this one and the feel worked out very well too. Something that I’d never heard of but was glad to try. If you see this one on a shelf, don’t hesitate. Thanks again Marcel!
