Got this one from the Duvel guy. Cheers!

Best Before December 2020
Lot A
APPEARANCE: A clear black pour yields a two finger, medium-thick looking, creamy, dark tan head with great retention. Pitch black body with lower levels of carbonation. Head slowly fades to a full cap and coats the sides of the glass. A ring and splotchy wisp remains with touches of lacing down the glass. Good looking for sure.
SMELL: Bourbon, oak, sweet cream, milk chocolate, cacao and toffee notes. Lovely stuff.
TASTE: Oak, bourbon, vanilla, sweet cream and caramel sweetness up front. SOme more bourbon and alcohol at the swallow with a bold and lingering finish of bourbon, oak, toffee and caramel, cacao, milk chocolate, vanilla cream and some roasted barley. Very flavorful and well balanced. A treat.
PALATE: Medium-full body and medium levels of carbonation. Enough weight on the palate, creamy for sure, goes down smooth and finishes quite mouth coating. A bit of a scratch at the swallow. A bit of heat lingers.
OVERALL: Excellent stuff. Same quality as their other barrel aged imperial stouts and all of it is right up my alley. Roasted and bitter base, well balanced and lots of sweet bourbon barrel character over it all. I've said it before and I'll say it again. These guys are the new kinds of barrel aged stout on the continent.

Pours a thick, creamy, dark beer, wirh a thin lacing, similar to a strong coffee.
The smell of whiskey barrel is predominant, along with notes of vanilla, (milk?) chocolate and a feint trace of coffee.
Quite complex taste, with dark cherry bitterness mixing perfectly with the whiskey barrel influence, dark chocolate, vanilla and cocoa, plus some molasses. The aftertaste is bitter-sweet, with a trace of heat from the alcohol.
Very nice mouthfeel, thick and velvety, yet not too thick.
Great beer overall, these guys really know what they're doing when it comes to barrel aging. Right up there with Maker's Mark and Buffalo Trace, from the White Label series.
