Served in a Orval Chalice. Bought at Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Expires 7/2013.

Look: golden orange, some suspended sediment, 1 finger head that dissipates soon into thin layer, nice lacing

Smell: orange, malt

Taste: tripel sweetness but without typical citric taste for balance. Malty towards the end and pleasant bitter hops at last

Feel: fine carbonation typical for a tripel. Tickles the tounge and lips. Good drinkability. Burpfactor high.

Overall: runs down good, but too sweet in my opinion. I like the mild bitter aftertaste.

A slightly murky beer with a coarse head that quickly settles.

Smell has a big maltiness with a yeasty fruitiness, like apricots. Also some hoppiness. I think I also smell some coriander and liquorice.

Taste is very malty with an in-your-face bitterness and nice earthy hoppiness. Some sweetness, that is also quite sticky. This doesn't interfere with the drinkability. There must be some liquorice in there, which give the beer it's extra depth. Aftertaste is sweet and lingering bitter. This must be one of the most bitter and hoppiest tripels in Holland, great stuff.

No freshnesdate findable. White head and a amber beer with white haze. Nose is spicy, slightly koreander backed by good maltarome and alcohol. Taste is havily alcoholic, sweetish caramellic maltarome and bitteralcoholic aftertaste. Maybe bit overdone on alcohol but further inspiring and enjoyfull brew.

Purchased at the BSF bar, GBBF 06. Coming in a slim and straight 30cl brown bottle, bottle-conditioned. No freshness info. printed on the label, served lightly-chilled in a tulip-shaped wine glass.

A: pours a murky, pale amber hue w/o the shiny glows; the beer head comes pretty restrained and settles fast to a rimmed foam; nice, gentle carbonation, full of tiny bubbles~~
S: extremely intense flower-estery and fragrant, almost like real perfume and musk-fragrance sprinkled over a huge bunch of fresh bouquet... mixed with nice and refreshing fruitiness, with figs, apples, ripe red-pears, sweet orange to boot, and touches of vanilla as well. Creamy malts, candy-sugar, lightly grassy Belgian hops, and sweet-woody yeastiness stay firmly in the background, but leaving the estery aroma to roam freely upfront. Exotic, utterly enjoyable, albeit a touch too fragrant for that matter.
T: a pretty alcoholic-sweet pale maltiness, candy-sugary and sweet citrus flavour prevail from the beginning... slowly giving way to a floral/aromatic aftertaste of noble hops, as well as an intensifyingly dryish, white-peppery, and mildly bitter hop impact at the back. Quite soothing on the palate, with a residual touch of lime-peel like citrus flavour to hover with slightly vanilla-ish, soft and creamy maltiness. Slightly sticky in the end though.
M&D: superb mouthfeel, full of extremely fine and refreshing micro-scopic fizz to help retain a refreshing palate for such a strong beer. Full-flavoured yet only medium-bodied, this triple tastes so quiet and understated that it's a dangerously drinkable diablo indeed. Alas, the flavour profile sort-of lags slightly behind the complex aroma, hence a lower performance overall. Worth a try all the same!
